(08:00 09-06-2018)
b]1. Introduction of combined events in the youth league[/b]

The main feature of this release will be the introduction of combined events (Pentathlon, Heptathlon, Decathlon) in the youth league.

A) Disciplines

There will be a new specialty called ‘Combined events’. This specialty will include four events:

- Men’s Pentathlon (Long Jump, Javelin Throw, 200m, Discus Throw, 1500m)
- Men’s Decathlon (100m, Long Jump, Shot Put, High Jump, 400m, 110m hurdles, Discus Throw, Pole Vault, Javelin Throw, 1500m)
- Women’s Pentathlon (100m hurdles, High Jump, Shot Put, Long Jump, 800m)
- Women’s Heptathlon (100m hurdles, High Jump, Shot Put, 200m, Long Jump, Javelin Throw, 800m)

Combined events athletes will have these two Special skills: Versatility and Mental strength.

B) Points

For every discipline in the combined events the athlete will get points. The sum of these points is the final result. We will use a different point system here than for single events, so that all the disciplines are roughly equally-weighted. Track disciplines in the combined events will usually score less points while field disciplines will usually score more points, compared to the same single event.

C) Weekly tests

The weekly tests for the combined events will happen on Monday.

The combined events part in the weekly test page consists of 3 tables. The first one shows the result for pentathlon and decathlon/heptathlon, the other two show the individual test results for the events inside for each combined event.

The athlete's test page shows the last 5 tests for the events inside and for the final results.

D) Training

Combined event athletes can make use of any coach (of course athletes in the main team cannot be assigned to youth coaches) at the moment. To cover the extra athletes, the maximum number of coaches in the main team will increase to 11 (from season 66).

E) Competitions

During season 65 the combined events are only available in the youth league. The results of the combined events will not be included in the total standings of the competition. From season 66 onwards the results from the combined events will count for the total standings in the youth league.

F) Promotion to the main squad

It is possible to promote combined events athletes to the main squad. But since there are no meetings with combined events in the main squad, it is nearly impossible to give them training. So promotion of combined events athletes is not recommended.

G) Athletes limit

The athletes limit in the youth squad has been increased to 18. The athletes limit in the main squad will be increased to 66 at the beginning of season 66.

H) Form and experience

The change of form or experience and the risk of injuries for combined events will be the same as for single events. Form and experience won't change during the calculation of each event. They will change after all results have been calculated.

2. Bug fixes and small enhancements

A) Relay ranking

Currently a relay team was only displayed in the seasonal rankings with the best performance of the season. This means that when you change a seniors team to a U21 team, the team will only be in the U21 season ranking if it improves the seasons best for the team. Since many users were confused, the next release will change this system: Every time a relay team changes category, we will allow it to record a new time in the rankings even if it is not an improved time.

B) Dressing rooms

The maximum area of the dressing rooms has been extended by 12 m² to a total of 156 m² to allow organizing all 52 events including the combined events.

3. Future development

A) Introduction of combined events to the main squad

In season 66 we will introduce the combined events to the main squad. Also there the combined events won't contribute to the total standings in official meetings in the first season.
There may be also some minor economic changes (for example the club sponsor formula) to deal with the increased number of athletes and the higher salary costs.

B) Fan system

The next larger economic change will be the introduction of a result-orientated fan system, where track athletes and field athletes at similar level will have similar numbers of fans. This change may happen in season 66 or 67.
